Visited My Farm Friends Today

I had a real estate showing this morning and on my way home I stopped to visit and photograph these animals.

George the donkey and Penny the horse. She gets her name after the copper coin.

George was the first to come closer. His namesake is George Washington.

The two goats in the background never moved an inch. The white goat is Rufus and the black one's name is David. His human often takes him for a walk leading him with a leafy branch. I think I'll invite both of these goats over this summer to eat some of my weeds.

Following the Already Traveled Path

I think these sheep are very wise to travel in the path made by a big vehicle instead of wasting calories forging a new one. Maybe it will take them closer to the barn filled with hay. via

Saw Some Sheep Today | Finally

I was pretty far away while photographing these sheep this afternoon.

I wish I could borrow this one to graze at my house before I do my final cutting.

I was standing behind a fence along the road way back here. The barn is in front of the white colonial house.

The noon sun was shining so brightly I couldn't tell what I was doing here. I was on my way to pay my property taxes when I pulled over to take this shot. I can walk to this location but haven't seen these animals in ages. This flock of sheep is grazing on a property next to a Richard Meier contemporary. I love the juxtaposition. Once again I was very far away focusing directly into a blinding sun.

Wednesday morning animal pic of the day. We can thank these two for the wonderful wool they give us for our sweaters and the lanolin we put on our lips to keep them from chapping in the winter. I use pure food-grade lanolin on mine and I'm addicted to it. I use CVS Pharmacy Lanolin Cream found in the baby aisle. via

Webster Would Love A Job Like This

Good job. I often see people training these border collies in a big open field nearby. They bring real sheep too. People with ponds and lakes use this breed to chase away the geese. via
