Candlelight and Roses

Quite Taken

Initially, I was going to share this lovely find from Goodwill and its transformation.

before

I am thrilled to have found this petite birdcage and its new look.

after

Also, I found this wonderful table runner!

Then when I was searching for how to embellish the birdcage, I was looking through our garden for moss and miniature flowers.

Then there she was. My La Marne bush – bursting with her many shades of pink.

It happens to me each time. I fall for this sweet diminutive rose.

So I snipped a few stems and buds.
I decided to place my sweet little white birds from this spring in and around the birdcage with a little bit of the greenery that came with the cage.

Then I thought to float some of the roses in some of my favorite teacups.

There’s something quite fetching about rose blossoms floating in teacups.

To add to the romance of the vignette, I added two
Green bubble depression dessert glassware with white, round candles.

The few stems I cut were put in this sweet angelic flower vase – to be set by my bedside.

Candlelight and roses were meant for each other.

It began as a transformation of objects
then in the end – I was transformed
by the mood set by the sweet birdcage
surrounded by my dear roses and candlelight.

I hope you’re having a marvelous day and you find delight in the small and the simple things.

Gorgeous interiors from some of my favorite blogs...

The one thing I miss about the days before I started blogging was that I actually had time to explore the blogs that I love and that inspired me to start blogging in the first place. Well, that's why I started regularly posting groups of images from my favorite blogs - so I get to visit my favorite sites, but still feel like I'm being productive.

In no particular order...

Below are finds from the always elegant Belle Vivir

this is a bathroom!

You can probably tell the 4 yummy images below are Scandinavian interiors, from the wonderfully Scandinavian themed Designpiration

I love this kitchen!!!  It's very rustic, but I think I could manage just fine...

The below are from the lovely "Oh So Beautiful Paper"

these bedrooms are heaven

This amazing cabinet is from the Two's Company display at last year's NYIGF.

A Little Rearranging

While moving things around to change the kitchen
and the family room to reflect a blue and white
decor, I set aside some of the spring pink items
in the green room.

I liked the grouping of the
birds, roses and teapots - so I left it.

I am really enjoying this terrerium my husband gave
me last Christmas - it has such lovely lines and character.

This little teacup sat on my desk and when the roses
dried I would fill the cup with their fragrant petals.

I love the sweet pose and demeanor of these little
birds I found at Michaels last spring. They seem both
coy and shy.

I placed part of an old dresser mirror behind the
terrarium to add depth with the etched pattern.

The teapots add interest and are easily accessible for
afternoon tea!
