Interior Photography.. and my {1000}th post

Lately I have been thinking about interiors (big surprise there)  and interior photography.  I was looking through Ashlee Raubach's blog and saw this picture.. which I love.  Ashlee took our family pictures last fall and she was amazing!  I cannot wait to have her photograph some of my work and my home when I get ready.  The light in this picture makes my heart race and that table makes me want to scream I love it so much.  I love the way she uses the light in the space and the softness that comes across in the photos.

Anyway, I am curious have you had interior photographs taken?  What do you think of different styles?

An amazing Etsy artist - the evocative nature photography of Nicholas Bell

I don't feature independent artists as much as I would like to.  But there's no time like the present, and I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the talented Nicholas Bell from Knoxville, TN.

His work really speaks to me because of it's sense of peace, isolation, and connectedness to our natural surroundings.  Check it out below:

I love the sense of quiet

These last two are my favorite - so beautiful

Pretty fantastic right?
Check out all of his work at his Etsy shop- Nicholas Bell Fine Art Photography.

A Whole Lot of Style

I can't begin to describe how blessed I feel to have been able to intern with Cristin, from Simplified Bee, this summer.  We've had the chance to do some fun things {and some that are still coming up!} Among our adventures was one of the best days of my summer so far.  Recently, Cristin has been working with interior designer, Leslie Lundgren, on several projects.  A few weeks ago Leslie invited Cristin to help her style her one of her client's homes for some photos of the finished space. Let me tell you- these ladies together are the dream team!  I was lucky enough to come along and take the pictures of the STUNNING space.

I immediately fell in love with the color, pattern, and Leslie's ability to blend traditional, Chinoiserie and ultimately create a relaxed California feeling.
Take a look:

As soon as I saw these baby Uggs I knew they needed to be in the shoot (:

This charming Spanish style home sits in an adorable neighborhood and features incredible architectural elements, such as this fireplace and the wood beams on the ceiling.

This was a fun little corner to style, and with three opinions on what should go where, we sure had a ball!  It was so beneficial to have three sets of eyes, and as the morning went on, we became more in touch with each other's styles that we started picking up on things before the other would even say it!

We started with the dresser, the green lamp that's now on the entry table, and another smaller botanical print framed above the dresser.  After many different looks, we ended up finding this amazing artwork in the garage! Now, center stage, this turquoise gem is the piece that pulls the whole space together.

Let's talk about the rug...LOVE IT. Such a great way to bring a whimsical, yet neutral, textured piece to the room.

The roses from Leslie's garden cannot go unnoticed.  How perfect is that color?!

Cristin, Leslie, & Me.

The three of us had such a wonderful time styling the shoot, but even more importantly, Leslie's client is totally in love with her living room. And so am I (:

Don't you think it turned out great? What's your favorite element in the space?

Hope this Monday eye candy is enough to wake you up! Check out more of Leslie's portfolio over here.
Love,
