Adele Plans a 5-Year Break | What!

I feel as if we just got her back after her throat surgery. Five years off is way too long. I can understand the need for a vacation to work on a new relationship and to rest but don't lose your whole audience Adele. We love you. Read the whole article here and watch her music video of 'Someone Like You'. The author of the article said he/she felt like writing a breakup album. Maybe Adele will record it.

A Perfect Galley Style Kitchen

This larger than normal galley kitchen had me at no upper cabinets. I want to watch the Grammys tonight but just to see Adele who is nominated for 6 Grammy Awards. I'll probably watch it until Downton Abbey starts and record the rest. DA is two hours long tonight (hope I can stay awake) and the last show of Season 2 is next Sunday. Boo Hoo. image source

The Imperial March- Barked and Classical?

The Bark Side -- It's not the only Super Bowl ad evoking past hit movies. Volkswagen, which had a hit last year with its little Darth Vader ad, will be tapping into the Force once again with dogs barking out the Imperial March.

Darth Vader's Theme -- I wasn't sure what I was listening to at first with the dogs until I heard it played by an orchestra. I think they did a good job after I listened to the barking version again. It is going to be a Super Bowl hit!

Countess of Grantham and Lady Mary are to release a record album

Are you watching Downton Abbey? I read two press releases recently saying Maureen McGovern and Michelle Dockery costars on this wonderful PBS Masterpiece series were pairing up to release an album.

I must confess I wasn't that impressed with Lady Mary's voice in last week's episode. We will just have to wait and see.

Adele sings 'Someone Like You' in her own home [video]

It's almost impossible to listen to the radio for any length of time without hearing Adele sing this beautiful song. I was delighted to find a video of her sharing the history of this song and then to be able to hear her sing it live from her home. The house tour is amazing. I'm glad she has a sweet little dog. Watch and listen here.

Home Sentiments

Music and Flowers

Today I am celebrating the sound of music in my home.
And bringing garden blossoms indoors.

All three of our children took piano lessons from an early age.

Our youngest daughter is still taking lessons - but those will end in May.

We were blessed when we purchased this house when the former owner left this piano behind.
He said it was his grandmother's, but it was too heavy for him to move. Coincidentally, it was created the same year our house was.

Serendipity?
We had it tuned and it sits in our dining room.

The family room and dining room are connected by an archway creating a great-room effect -

I am so glad this 1914 Craftsman house is so open and the ceilings are so tall.

When my daughter plays - the sound of the music fills the whole house. I feel I am being serenaded.

I know these days are precious and becoming few. She will graduate this year and begin college this fall.

I cherish each moment, each note...imprint them in my mind and heart.

I love soothing music, the kind I added to my blog - she plays a lot of these songs -

beautifully -

filling my home with music.
I am sharing this post with
our dear friends - hostesses
