Meet Your Friends Party

I like meeting people and making new friends so I decided to host a Meet Your Friends Party.  This is a chance to get to know your fellow bloggers better and meet some people you may not have known before.  The party will go until February 4th at midnight.  Create a post about you and your blog and link it up here.  There is a button to attach to your post.

Some questions to help you get started:
Why did you start a blog?
What is your blog about?
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
What do you do when you're not blogging?

Welcome to the party friends!

Hello Friend Party

I'm participating in Sassy Sites "Hello Friend Party".  It'll be fun getting to know some of my fellow bloggers and see what projects you have going on.

Why did you decide to start blogging?  I started blogging because I was looking for decorating ideas for my new home and came across so many good decorating blogs.  I decided it would be a fun way for my friends and others to see what I was up to in my spare time.

When you aren't blogging, what are you doing?  When I'm not blogging, I'm spending time with my husband and daughter, and of course decorating the house.

What is your blog about?  My blog is about me decorating my home and trying out as many DIY projects possible.

When do you find the time to blog?  I blog in the evening when my daughter has gone to bed and the chores are all done.  Ok, most of them are done.

Why do you love blogging?  I love blogging because it gives me a creative outlet.  I know my husband grows tired of me asking him decorating questions.  Blogging also lets me connect with others and see how they are decorating their spaces.

What is your favorite post so far that you've written?  My favorite post so far is a tour of the family room.  This is the space where my family and guests spend our time and I loved getting to invite readers into my home.

Hello House!

So several months ago we decided it was time to move on to a bigger house.  If we wanted to ever expand our family, we needed more space!!  We moved into a 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom townhouse when we were married.  It was great for us 2 but then came our daughter.  Our office/exercise room/guestroom would now be a nursery.  We had to get rid of the guest furniture to accommodate a crib, a dresser, and changing table.  Not to mention the exercise equipment and large tv stand were staying in the room.  After our daughter turned 2, the house was just becoming too cramped.  All of her toys were taking over the house.  LET'S MOVE I kept screaming.  My hubby finally gave in.

In January we starting looking.  We saw several that we thought would be our next place but our offers weren't being accepted.  I happened to come across a home listing one day that was in a neighborhood I never thought we would get into.  We made an offer and it was accepted!!!!!  WOO HOO!!  We got a house.  Talk about excitement.  It has a ton of space for us to grow into.  It has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, large kitchen, and a family room.  So much more than we could ever have asked for.  Now the question is, can we afford to decorate it all?

A New Start

Yay I did it.  I'm starting a blog and so excited to join this community.  I didn't see this coming.  It all started a couple of months ago. We just bought a new house and I was on a quest for home decor ideas, but trying to maintain a budget.  Through some searches, I was coming across a ton of design blogs that included DIY projects.  I was reading through them and have been hooked ever since.  They really got my creative juices flowing.  Why haven't I come across this before?   There was a whole world out there I knew nothing about.  I can't wait to share my ideas with you as I unleash my new love of interior decorating.
