B & B Inspired Breakfast

Saturday Brunch
photos were take with camera phone - my daughter borrowed my camera for the prom
My guests are slowly rising this morning
so I chose to make two dishes from
two of my favorite cookbooks
Potato Bacon and Eggs
from
Joie de Vivre

by
Robert Arbor
and
The Foster's Market Cookbook

by
Sara Foster
These two dishes are wonderful to make ahead and to heat as needed.

It looks to be a glorious day - the
sun is out and I think we
may have summer-like weather.

That's the South for you!

A Good Read

Cookbooks

On days such as these that have been windy and gray
I love to sit down and curl up to a good read.

Among my favorite reads are my Victoria Magazines,
gardening books, home decorating, tea books, historic books,

Biblical books, mysteries and thrillers and cookbooks.

Some of my favorite books have chapters where the author
shares a bit about their life, their loves and their cooking techniques.
Joie De Vivre is one of my very favorites.
I enjoy reading Robert Arbor's chapters as well as trying his
delicious recipes.

I love roasting chicken for Sunday dinner and this one is a winner.

My family also enjoys this very simple dish for breakfast,
lunch or dinner.

I vary my approach to this recipe a little bit.
I cube the potatoes very small and saute them in butter;
set them aside; saute the bacon cubes until crispy; set
that aside and in a clean pan scramble the eggs. Once
the eggs are done, I then combine all three ingredients.
This is good enough alone, with bread or with a small salad.
