Embelleshing

Old Atlas Jar

I was thrilled to find this old jar earlier this week at Goodwill.
I have a varied assortment of old canning jars and bottles. I had it sitting on my desk for a couple of days and thought – embellish.
I loved what Cielo at The House in the Roses did to some of her jars.

So, I took out my notions – chose some lace and binding. Then I began searching for that special piece to complete the embellishment.

My daughter asked me what I was doing – and after I told her she brought her collection of old jewelery – and there it was.

This broach – just perfect in size, color and style.
I created a collar with the lacy ribbon and then created a band with the binding and the lace. Hot glue would not hold the broach so I jus pinned it!

I placed it in our hall bathroom and plan to fill it with bath salts. I know I have a wooden scoop somewhere! The jar is next to an apothecary jar and a rose egg that I also found at Goodwill.

It is so much fun finding inspiration from our friends in blogland and so much fun finding treasures!

I hope you’re having a Delightsome day!
Thank you so much for visiting!

White Wednesday

Mums

and

Treasured Finds

While reading my Carolyne Roehm Fall Notebook, I was charmed by the picture of her white Mums alongside the two white benches. I just thought they looked serene.
I don’t usually see very many white Mums at the nurseries, but while out doing errands I found these two spectacular, happy Mums!

I had the perfect place for them.
In my recently transformed pots.

I had painted the rose arbor white a week or two back and think this makes a lovely, somewhat serene setting in my own garden.

note: I found the white mums at our local Home Depot for just over $6 each!

I stopped by my favorite Goodwill and found this amazing, old, large Atlas jar,

this crocheted napkin, this interesting bottle and this terracotta rooster.

I found something else very, very special that I have to tweak a little and hope to show you later this week!
I am gleeful with happiness over these wonderful finds.

How has your day been? I hope as blessed and serene as mine.
