The LORD God
Made Them All
‘wild is the music of autumnal winds the faded woods’.
William Wordsworth
And
A
Frosty November Moon
I was prepared for it. Under an overcast sky, the autumn foliage seemed to glow. There was a change coming – our first freeze.
November’s full moon shone brightly surrounded by a few fleeting clouds. it seemed to be aptly named – Frosty Full Moon.
I was able to catch a few blue hour pictures before the sunset. The clouds were a glorious pink, the colors of fall seemed deep and vibrant. I expected to awake to the chilly affect of a frosty night.
But not so, even still.
I covered a few delicate plants that need to be brought indoors. I did not cover the summer annuals, expecting to have to pull them up today
– giving them every fleeting hour of brilliant blooming time.
But, they were still there!
I thought of the song, “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.
All things bright ...
The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them high and lowly,
And ordered their estate.
All things bright ...
The purple headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;−
All things bright ...
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,−
He made them every one:
All things bright ...
The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
We gather every day;−
All things bright ...
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.
All things bright ...
(Amen)
My heart is lifted to the thought of all the
marvelous and wonderful things God has created
for us to enjoy – the seasons and the times,
the sights and the sounds –
They truly are beautiful –
Causing my heart to sing
How great our God truly is!
