Shades of White
It is so very hot outside that I wanted
to set a table that would be light and soothing
for myself and for my husband.
It's just the two of us tonight.
I chose our everyday dishes and topped them with
these wide deep bowls, which are great for soups or salads.
Clear goblets for water and white mugs for tea or coffee.
The placemats are large embroidered linen cloths I found
at an estate sale some time back.
I have placed them atop a burlap colored drop cloth.
In the center of the table I borrowed this milk glass compote
filled with old door knobs.
We'll drink water tonight - while it is so hot - water is so very important.
But, we do love our tea and coffee, so I'll make that
available too.
The silverware are more mismatched pieces we've had for years.
I like their character.
The napkins are also from the Estate sale.
These little birds are always a welcome addition to my tablescapes.
Soothing shades of white, cream and beige.
Just putting it together gave me a sense of calm.
I hope you're enjoying your evening.
It would be lovely if it would rain so that we could open the doors
for the cooler air and for the fresh sound and fragrance of
a summer rain.
I am sharing this post with
Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch
Wishing you a most Serene, Delightsome night,
