Holding Court in My Garden
| Just had to add my sweet little garden bunnies - |
I tend to ascribe personality or nobility to some of my flowers.
In my garden, the Rose is the Queen.
The tinier Roses are the Princesses
The Peony is the Duchess
The Iris is the Lady in Waiting
The Pansies and the Columbine are the Pages
Each flower is special to me - I am so very grateful
and in awe at the wonder of perennials that return
year after year and of the annuals that add color
throughout the season.
This old rambling rose was laying over and we had
these two pieces of rebar - left from previous owners. I
am not sure what they used them for - but, we chose
to create a rustic obelisk with it - I wove garden wire around
the frame and wove the rose stems all through. This comes
to at least eight feet tall - I hope to identify this
and other roses that were given to me by my friend,
who saved them from a garden that was being
destroyed. My neighbor tells me he remembers such a
rose growing in his grandmother's garden. It has a lovely
fragrance.
A garden is a never-ending joy to me.
Just wondering...
I save petals from spent flowers
do you save petals from flower arrangements?
I love their beauty and their lingering fragrance.
Just wondering.
Thank you for your visit.
I am sharing this post with these wonderful garden parties
Wishing you a very Delightsome day!
