Princess Diana Apple Serviceberry - new in the garden..

There is more pleasure in making a garden than in contemplating a paradise.

Amelanchier grandiflora - Princess Diana Apple Serviceberry
Slow growing, spreading, multi-stemmed, shrubby tree reaching
up to 25 feet in height and about 30 feet in width.
Grown for its red fall color.
Ovate leaves are long and bronze, hairy underneath, turning green in late spring and red in the fall.
Pendant racemes of white flowers bloom in spring followed by very sweet, juicy, edible, blue-black fruit.
Because roots are not aggressive and shade is not dense, this lovely plant is a superb choice for a perennial border or entryway.
Flowers are best seen when plant is located in front of dark background such as an evergreen border or wall.

Yesterday , on my birthday I planted a Serviceberry bush in our garden..

Plant a tree in your garden and a singing bird will come..
